How do I run Facebook and Myspace apps in ubuntu?

I am a new ubuntu user and have installed it to allow a measure of virus free operation on my children's computer. I cannnot get their facebook and myspace apps, to run properly, they will not load the flash type screens at all. If there is an add-on to ubuntu that i hve to install, I cant find one that fits the description. Please advise.

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
- gives you flash non-free
- gives you sun java afaik, watch the license agreement!
