On install Ubuntu 8.04, it can't find mirror

I'm trying to install Ubuntu 8.04 on my acer aspire one from a USB. the installation can't get past the 'choose a mirror stage' as the OS was unable to detect my network card and therefore can't find any mirror.

what to do?

Hi,

In that case it is recommended to use a newer release of Ubuntu. In 9.10 You network card should be detected succesfully.
