To upgrade? I should def. wait till THE moment, and upgrade via the update/upgrade manager. There will be a "pop-up" in that manager to suggest an upgrade to the fginal version of 10.04....

Does that mean I can upgrade in april? I don't want to have to wait for another 6 months!

Official release is in April (which is in four months) and only then, as leoquant mentioned, the upgrade will be offered by update-manager.
You_can upgrade whenever you prefer, now, in four, six, eight or xx month.

Well, I was hoping to do it via update manager, so I'll wait.

Sounds exactly like mine. I submitted a similar report, referring to 8.04 LTS rather than 9.04. I still think it lies in the kernel, and for me it only works in the 686 kernel versions, never with the generic. Maybe it's a processor issue! I have a pentium D supporting 64 bit (I think, never really messed with it. It says it is on the package) and I think it's dual core, but I'm not sure.
