Can't Install Adobe Flash Player

I've been trying to install adobe flash player 10 and have had no luck so far. I'm new to Ubuntu/Linux and don't really understand it. For the tr.gz, and .rpm I couldn't understand what to do in the terminal. And for .deb when it started to install an error message came up.
Any and all help you can offer is appreciated.

Run this command to install Flash Player 10:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get --purge remove flashplugin-installer adobe-flashplugin flashplugin-nonfree; sudo apt-get --purge autoremove; sudo apt-get clean; sudo apt-get upgrade; sudo apt-get --purge autoremove; sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

I did that and it said "flashplugin-nonfree is already the newest version."

Did you follow through the whole command instructions. If so here [1]
