       You can run (most)windows executables after installing 'wine'.

Try first if there are native linux alternatives for the/your window(s) programms: http://linuxappfinder.com/
Then use wine. Not many windows executables do "run" in wine.

First you should check out the wine hq database.
http://appdb.winehq.org/

some program not listed here shall also work. The database just gives a rough idea. It is useful to point out which application has been denied to run on wine and thus for sure wont work..
