Asked by Junko

I have a ThinkPad with Ubuntu 9.10. After suspend, the monitor does not light up when I open the lid. Please help.

Run the following two commands in Terminal.

sudo apt-get remove --purge laptop-mode-tools acpi-support
sudo apt-get install laptop-mode-tools acpi-support

I don't have a thinkpad, but those commands fixed the suspend bug with my laptop. Let me know if that works for you.

Thank you for your help, but unfortunately Installing the newest laptop-mode-tools acpi-support did not work. Actually, when I open the lid after Suspend, the screen shows something, but it's too dark to tell what's actually shown.
