No problem: go to http://www.skype.com/download/skype/linux/ , download the debian-package and do a right-click on the downloaded .deb-file. Then choose Install Package from the Kubuntu-Package-Menu. Thats it.

Notice that Skype2 is not yet available for linux. Furthermore skype can take some time to start (at least at my system), I thinks it is because it is statically linked to Qt, but I am not sure.

Oh, do you use gnome as desktop? I am not sure how to install the package by an graphical user-interface there, but you can open a terminal and type 'sudo dpkg -i skype*.deb' there.

Hmm, I just see that you can also install an apt-repository. It is described here: http://www.skype.com/download/skype/linux/repositories.html

Can you help with this problem?
