hard link & soft link

Asked by Federico

Hi everybody,

I'm sorry to annoy you with my simplistic questions, but I'd like to know how can I use a soft link or hard link from the shell; I mean, is there a command that is equivalent to the double click on a link (hard or soft)? I used <cat> to show the content of the link, but did I run it or have I just printed on the shell its content?
Thanks again!

Federico

hmm, I'm not sure what do you mean.

Here you have a good and plain (not quite) explanation of hard and soft (symbolic) links

Take a look to it
