Does file encryption in ubuntu 9.10 use more hard drive space?

Asked by meow

Hi

At the moment my entire home folder is unencrypted- i want to add a new private folder using Encryptfs-however will any files encrypted take more space?

Also for the time being i only want to encrypt really personal files like my cv, essays, etc. Is there any point in encrypting music, pictures, or videos?

No

If you want to deny access to that music, picture, videos then I'd guess... Yes?
