In the grub boot menu (the one that has Try Ubuntu... Install Ubuntu...:

press F6 and select AHCI=off.

If that doesn't work, please describe your computer. E.g. type, amount of memory, harddrive.

It would take some time, since you are booting off a CD and that means
you will need some patience :D

try installing in safe graphics mode.
for that boot with LiveCD > select language
and on the next screen press F4 (modes)
select safe graphics mode and try.

MD5SUM is for iso file you downloaded.
MD5SUM checks that whether the file downloaded is perfect or not.

check the md5sum of iso file using :
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM
if its correct then go for next check (integrity of media)
if md5check in not correct, you need to download the iso again.

check the integrity of media using :
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/CDIntegrityCheck?action=show&redirect=CDIntegrityCheck

if md5sum is correct and CD integrity test is not correct then burn the iso image once again.

virtual box is always an option. But I think thats not the solution for our question.
I still recommend you to check the integrity of the media.

Try the AHCI = false option listed as the first post of these answers...

Can you help with this problem?
