how do I scan from scanner

I want 2 scan pictures from my scanner into computer.

Well I have an old epson scanner, but here is how I generally do it.

Applications -> Graphics -> GIMP Image Editor

File -> Create -> XSane -> Device Dialog...

From there it should detect your scanner, and you can click scan or preview.
