how to un installing ubuntu 9.10 and install xp

i installed ubuntu 9.10 fully in my system and its working perfectly.
my problem is that i need to work on matlab regarding my project.
so i want to un install ubuntu and move back to windows xp.
i tried by inserting xp cd and restarted and click option boot from cd.but its not working it is directly going to ubuntu.not able to install xp.
so please any one help me to install xp in simple and easy method of understanding.

Please go to BIOS and change the first boot to CD-ROM. That would recognise your XP CD.
