I cannot see my cursor on my desktop after upgrading to Karmic Koala. Can you tell me how to make it visible again?

Did it inform you about any Hard Disks having problems? I noticed that when my external USB was powered-off, the mouse cursr disappeared - I had to power back the USB drive to prevent the message from being displayed. Once it boot, I modify the preferences so that this message was no longer displayed.

I haven't gotten a message about the hard disk(s). There is supposedly a problem with the karmic kernel.

The cursor appears only when I have my flash drive ("external USB") plugged in so your comment about that helped. I am not sure what preferences you modified though to fix the problem.
