Corrupt Personal Address book

Asked by Roger Smith

I have foolishly loaded a .csv file containing all my old outlook emails into my Personal address book rather than into my inbox. There are now around 1100 contacts in it!! and it runs REALLY slowly. The only option I can se is to delete them one by one. The option to delete the address book is greyed out.

Please could you tell me how I can clear down (or delete and recreate) the personal address book, and some hints for loading outlook emails, contacts and calendars correctly into Evolution would be much appreciated.

many thanks.

Roger

In your home directory should be a hidden folder named .evolution where all data for this application are stored. You can empty the file regarding the address book.

Good luck

Hi Cristi,

I deleted the contents of the addressbook folder in .evolution, restarted the PC, and my problem was solved. Many thanks.
