Ubuntu 8:1+ needs maintenance I cannot supply

Asked by John Marlo Grier, Cebu

My copy of Ubuntu flatly refuses to come up and insists that I know GEEK level manual maintenance which I do not understand.

I only came up because I also have windows on this and came up on safe mode.

I need immediate attention please

Thanks Neil!

I think that it was only "Good Friday Festivities" in which people tried to harrass me. The Ubuntu system decided that it could not automatically fix the problem and that I had to solve the situation by rewriting it without an education and would not budge and did not offer explanation.

So in that I had installed Windows first, I went into Safe Mode and successfully launched Ubuntu. I then was able to attempt to fix it as a user and looked at one of my harddrives and fixed some entries.

Then I shut it off for 12 hours after successfully opening up my idenitcal os in another computer I have setup.

Today it came up without a problem.

Another problem that might need solving sometime is my practice of downloading non-ubuntu software. Ubuntu personal seems to understand the problem and seems to be working hard on solving that situation.

I will wait and see.

thanks
