Can't login in on my laptop

I had someone connect a belkin router for me,it was working find when he left,when I shut it down that night the next morning I could not log in,the belkin popup keeps asking for my password .I've tried everything is there a way to change that

Well, Ask the person whom set up the router for the pass word.
Or, you can stick a paperclip in the tinny hole in the back and reset to router as though it was new.
The latter will cost you time setting it all up again. The first costs nothing
