This question is not related to Ubuntu. I am throwing it open here because I believe there are people knowledgeable enough to give me answers.

I want to start a project, a website will do the following
a. convert a video file in any format to a flv(flash) file
b. Store this flv file in a database that will be searched by a user using a specified criteria

 My question now is what open-source software can I use to get this done?

drupal can do this. this is not the place to ask non ubuntu related questions though
