wireless intel 2200bg

my wireless intel 2200bg eth1 is activated and have entered required information for connection but when i unplug cable i lose network connection can anyone help please...

i unplug my ethernet cable from laptop thay links me to my linksys wag54g
wireless router which is update with firmware.....

sorry mark my linksys wag54g wireless router has the latest firmware,,,

im new to linux and ubuntu and im enjoying the experience but im having
problems installing certain files that are designed for windows *.exe, *.rar
*.zip is there an application available for ubuntu that can help with this
please
