To be honest you don't need antivirus or spyware protection with any linux because of the way ubuntu handles programs. To install and work they need your direct permission(i'm sure you've seen the password prompt to install something). Antivirus for windows is built to stop installations of malicious software and linux already does this, plus someone would have to build a virus for linux systems which really only universities doing research make those viruses and don't release them to hurt systems.
To get a firewall hit applications, then add/ remove, go to all availiable applications in the drop-down menu and search "firewall". Theres one there and i use it myself.
