I need driver for Olympus FE-230 digital camera

Asked by gretarsson

I have just started using Ubuntu; I like it a lot but as I try to plug in my Olympus FE-230 then I can not get any connection to it, I use F-spot or digikam softwear but they can not find any plugin for me, if I use my Canon Eos 400 then every thing is working fine, if some one know about good plugin or driver for my Olympus it will make my day happy
Thanks for it

Hi,
I'm pasting Kubuntu 7.10 cli instructions that may equally apply in your Ubuntu,

If you don't know how to find and back up even hidden files first, or If anything looks even slightly confusing, please don't hesitate to ask,

Resolved camera mount problem

Camera Olympus FE-230 mount problem on Kubuntu 7.10:

cd /usr/share/services
rm camera.protocol
cp system.protocol camera.protocol
nano camera.protocol

changed the line protocol=system to protocol=camera

rm /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libgphoto2.rules
rm /usr/share/services/kfile_media.desktop .

Can you help with this problem?
