I think i installed the Compiz x server and it screw up the speed of my Laptop

I used this sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl to replace the default thing. I thought it would be faster but that is killing my Laptop Speed. I remove the packages(emeralds, Compiz Advance settings) and nothing works, still with the scree effects.
Is THere a way to restore back the default one, if there is please tell me the easy way to do it.

Enter this into a terminal:
sudo apt-get remove xserver-xgl
