ITunes in Ubuntu

Asked by Grig

I am trying to use wine to install ITunes on Ubuntu and I keep getting this error message
"could not load L"c:\\windows\\system32\\iTunesSetup.exe": Module not found".

There must be something I am not doing right. Can someone please tell me.

Well first of all you are trying to install a windows applicaton in linux. You cant just do that. .exe files are windows executables, not linux.

There are linux alternatives to itunes that can even sync to ipods. One of my favorites in amarok.

In linux you can install aps through ubuntu's repositories. Just go to Applications >> Add / Remove

In there you can find every application that ubuntu can install with the selected repositories. It will automatically download and install the program for you.

You may need to add additional repositories System >> Administration >> Software Sources
in order to get more programs

By the way, If you would like to install Amarok, you can also type this in the Terminal

sudo apt-get install Amarok

I have amarok . I onced used it to sync ipod and the ipod crashed , so I had to reset when I booted into windows. I wanted to use wine to install itunes but i keep getting the error message that i have shown above. So please if there is an adjustment that i have to make while, during or after syncing the ipod let me know. Thanks
