installed old hard drive cant remember administrator password

was using x face caught a troll getting movies.messed up my modem and everything.installed an old hard drive with unity 12.04tried to run live discs to erase and install 14.04.wont uninstall and re inmstall so i can change admin password.Help!!!!!!!!!
its an old dell optiplex gx 620.tried loading live disc to get to grub file,no go.went into set up said need to install jumper to change admin setting.dont know what that is.these are proprietory linux ubuntu discs.any help would be a step in right direction.still learning terminal commands.still an embryo....how can become admin on my own computer again?

Windows has a built-in administrator account that is often disabled by default. You can try booting into Safe Mode and accessing this account to reset the password https://cricmela.com/psl-live-streaming/. To do this, restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears.
