With alien (sudo apt-get install alien). Alien will create a .deb package from your rpm.

Trying to run AdobeReader _enu-7.0.9-1.i386.rpm on Linux Ubuntu 7.04 . It would not accept in any fashion.
Using an old command from Red Hat on my terminal i.e. rpm -q , the reply was "rpm is not currently installed.. ". Using the suggestion of "sudo apt-get install rpm" , I successfully discovered that rpm (4.4.1-14build1) ... " is already the newest version. Being a fearful, elderly person, , should I again try to install AdobeReader rpm??
Would appreciate any help you could offer
Thanks.
