cannot get a swap partition when installing gutsy

Asked by jfarrug

While installing from the live CD i manually partition my second hard drive and i do not get the option to select "swap" for any of my new partitions. If i type in "SWAP" or "swap" the system complains that i need to use "/swap".

In order to create a swap partition, you just need to point to some free space in the partition manager during ubuntu installation, and then create a new partition with "swap" as the file system. Swap is found as a file system from the FS list when you create a new partition.

Can you help with this problem?
