Umbuntu 11.10 - icons don't always display

Asked by Thornefamily

Upgraded to Umbuntu 11.10 and every time I reboot only some of the icons in the side bar and menus display others are greyed out but can still be used when I click on them. How do I fix this?

The OS is called Ubuntu, not Umbuntu. Oneiric is EOL next month. After that it will get zero updates and zero support from the community. I suggest you upgrade sooner rather than later. You could always try the Unity2D session. It may help.

So what do I upgrade to 12.04 or 12.10?

You can upgrade to 12.04 in one move. This will then give you support til April 2017. If you want 12.10 you will still need to upgrade to 12.04 first or you can wipe clean and do a fresh install of either then restore user data from your backups

Can you help with this problem?
