On Ububtu 7.1, unable to edit menu.1st.

The help at //help.ubuntu.com/community/GrubHoto/ChangeDefaultOS will not work. I seem to be unable to find /boot. I had no problem with Ubuntu 7.04 doing the same.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 and I can confirm the file is under /boot/grub

are you root or did you do sudo first?

# sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

otherwise you can search it with:

# updatedb
# locate menu.lst
