Thunderbird 11.10

Asked by Jan Borowiec

When launching Thunderbird, I get the message: "This version of Thunderbird will be obsolete from April 24th, 2012. You will no longer have the benefit of security and stability enhancements, therefore you will be at greater risk of security vulnerabilities and attack. We strongly recommend that you get the newest version now."
Shall I do it myself or you will include Thunderbird 11.0.1 into the normal Ubuntu update service?
Greatings,
Jan Borowiec

The result of the two proposed commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security/ppa&& sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install thunderbird

is:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
thunderbird is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

And what about this Thunderbird message:

    Thunderbird Release Notes

v.3.1.20, released March 12, 2012

The Thunderbird 3.1.x series will no longer be supported from April 24,
2012. Beyond this date, security and stability will not be guaranteed
and the Thunderbird 3.1.x series will become more exposed to Internet
security threats.

Greatings,
Jan

Do you read this messege in your terminal: 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded

So...

sudo apt-get upgrade thunderbird

Just one question:
Is it better to use ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security or ppa:mozillateam/thunderbird-stable ?

You'll want:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/thunderbird-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install thunderbird

The security team ppa doesn't have thunderbird 11 for Lucid.

Can you help with this problem?
