MS icons on desktop

Asked by David Vincent-Jones

My computer is now dual booted with XP and Ubuntu.
There are two icons on the desktop for the MS drive areas that I would like to "hide"
How would I do that?
Thanks;
David

Hit Alt+F2. It should bring up a run command window. Enter gconf-editor and then navigate on the left panel to / -> apps -> nautilus. On the right you should see a check box next to "volumes_visible" that you can uncheck to get rid of the icons on your desktop. Unfortunately this also removes the cd drives from your desktop which can be handy.
