why my computer stopped working?

i pressed the reset button and wen it turned back on it wont work nomore and its asking me for boot disk.
i dont know whats this

Do you have an operating system installed on your machine? It sounds as though the computer is unable to boot your operating system - which would normally be on the hard drive. You can use an Ubuntu cd as a boot disk - it is a bootable cd - but you may need to change your BIOS settings to get the machine to boot from the cd drive.

Just another quick thought - it may be the case that you have somehow damaged or deleted the master boot record from your hard drive. If you have Windows installed, then you will need to find your Windows disk and then use the appropriate function to restore the MBR (it varies depending on which version of Windows you have).
