Increase size of menu icons on desktop

As a brand new member to Ubuntu and having poor eye sight how can I increase the size of text as shown on the desktop as well as the icons in the menu bar and toolbar.

To answer your question go to System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Fonts

Thank you very much for the advice. I have increased the font size and can
know see to be able to use my computer with more ease. Thanks for the help.
As a very regular user of Windows XP I am now beginning to enjoy the
challenge of learning Ubuntu.
