Canon LBP 2900 printer does not want to install on UBUNTU. How do I get it to work?

Asked by Baywatch

The Printer was picked up by Ubuntu, but it does not have the Canon LBP 2900 on the list of printers provided. Where do I go to get them, or what should I do? I need to be able to print for this is a business printer.

A business printer? I guess, you made a mistake. If you need a business printer, you have to get an HP printer - and nothing else.

I guess you can't find a driver for your printer. The web site canon.com doesn't support your printer.

Hi,

I succeeded to make the Canon LBP 2900 printer to work with hardy 8.04 by following instructions given on the Ubuntu help web site.

You can follow theses instructions carefully:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsPrinters/CanonPrinters/Canon_LBP_2900

For most of the commands, you can do copy & paste.

Hope that helps
