Thunderbird 3.04 crashing
I installed Thunderbird 3.04 from the Ubuntu 10.04 Software Center. It worked but looked strange (some items not displaying).
I uninstalled and reinstalled with Synaptic. When I launch the program I get
"Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Thunderbird process, or restart your system."
I completely uninstalled with Synpatic and manually installed the tar.gz2 application from the Thunderbird homepage. Same problem.
Is there any solution. I am new to Ubuntu
Thanks

PS : I uninstalled Evolution (was maybe not a good idea) and now I have a Thunderbird launcher in my Applications menu that I cannot remove and that is not recognized by the Ubuntu software Center
Try adding the mozilla ppa, it may help

Thanks for your answer
I installed the mozilla ppa.
firefox is now called namoroka and thunderbird still doesn't launch. Just displaying the same error message:
"Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Thunderbird process, or restart your system."
Its still firefox, its just pre-release so gets a funny name. Theres firefox 3.7 which is codenamed Minefield and Thunderbird 3.1 is codenamed Shredder.
I'd log a bug.
Can you help with this problem?
