I'm using UBUNTU 9.10 and tried to use MoviePlayer to read a standard video DVD and it won't read. I've tried other DVDs with no success. What program do I need to read a DVD?

Terry,

To install libdvdcss2 on Karmic (9.10) you just need to run the two following commands, then try MoviePlayer again.

    $ sudo apt-get install libdvdread4
    $ sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

Good luck,
George

Hi :)

Please can you first try working through the Medibuntu worksheet
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu
this should get most of the multimedia sorted out on your machine

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
