will ubuntu 10.4 will have a plug play controller to play games?

I'm not sure what a "plug play controller" is exactly, but 'most' USB joysticks should work in Ubuntu just fine. The more challenging part may be finding a game that accepts joystick input (most of the emulators certainly do).

so most joysticks work with ubuntu meaning that I can use it to play sauerbraten. If that the case then am getting me a joystick.
