rhythmbox- can't import from files and other problems

Asked by mara

Hello, I have just installed rhythmbox on new computer. Have copied on 3 cds but these ones didn't show names of artist, only album titles. Then when I tried to copy any more cds, wouldn't go on. Music was copied to music file though, even though I opened cds in rhythmbox. I have found the music all mixed up in 'missing files' and under 'unknown'. Why didn't it come under name of cd? What should I do to organize these albums in rhythmbox so I can find them easily? How should I do it in future?
Thanks for your help, m

I recommend sound juicer for audio ripping, or grip (not in repos but there are PPAs with it on)

I've not used rhythmbox for audio ripping, was there an option to set the artist name on ripping? The app will attempt to get the data from the CDDB but if it fails I am sure there will be a section of r human intervention.

Brasero is another good burner to burn all types of files on cd or dvd
