Printer working but I can't print a page from User manual

My printer is working normally; but when I try to print a page from the Desktop User Guide it prints page 1 of 1 with eg "Working with Files" the only thing on the page.
As I am new to Ubuntu I want to read up about the filing system, so is there any reason why it wont print the contents of the user guide.
