wireless signal strength applet

Asked by Tom

Hi :)

I need a little applet or something for the taskbar that shows me the signal strength of my wireless connection. It seems that the standard "network manager" doesn't show this although it looks as though i should. I tried WiCd but that broke my system.

If there is a conky script for this instead then that would be great to know as an alternative

Thanks and regards from
Tom :)

wifi-radar is an alternative too, you can change your icon theme and it will change the network-manager icon to show the strength.

You can also run:

sudo iwlist scan

and you can see the signal strength in terminal for each SSID found.

Can you help with this problem?
