how do i prepare a ssd for 9.10 ?

IMHO, more or less.

The only thing you may wish to do is to choose ext2 instead of ext3/ext4, that is to get rid of the journaling system in order to prevent excessive writing to the SSD. For that you need to select the manual partitioning during the installation process.
