9.10 Mobile broadband compatibility error

Asked by Chris.W

I have a new USB, Cricket UM185C Modem which when I insert it displays-

Error mounting: mount exited with exit
code 32: mount: block device /dev/sr1 is
write-protected, mounting read-only mount: /dev/sr1 superblock

It also appears to be detecting it as a CD
Which is odd because it does not need a CD to opperate

I recently upgraded from WindowsXP and the process deleted Windows by mistake
My question basically is should I switch to,
- 9.04 or older
-a different ISP

This wireless modem provides Cricket Broadband customers access to its affordable high-speed Internet service.
The Cricket UM185C modem features a swivel USB hinge, dual antenna with Rx antenna diversity, CD-less software for easy installation.

So, whats the problem u have !? Issue with connection !?
Could U click on NetworkManager Applet (tray) and try to find new connection link.

If u still have problem, please provide output from terminal:

$ lsusb && dmesg | grep usb

Can you help with this problem?
