I cant install ubuntu

Asked by Kingsley

Microsoft stopped working on my computer, it needed a new activation code so I decided to give up on microsoft and give linux a try. I got the ubuntu 9.10 disk and put it in my computer, but I cant install it. I hear it working in the drive but nothing pops up on the screen. Any suggestions???

Have you checked that your CD/DVD Drive is your first boot option? You can usually press "del" or one of the F-buttons to enter the BIOS where you can change the settings. On some computers you have to press a certain button to enter a boot-menu. The information is shown just as you start your computer.

It might be easier if you press the "Pause" button to make the system halt on a screen, giving you time to read what button you should press to enter the different menus.

I hope this helps you out!
Good luck and congratulations on your choice!
