User Login appears after shutdown Karmic 64bit

Asked by TulsaWeb

I have Karmic installed on a 64bit Shuttle machine (Intel chipset)

Karmic works fine.
After I shutdown, a command line appears asking for a login password (not the user name, just the password).
Neither the root password, nor my user password is recognized.
I now ignore this login and eventually the login screen times out (I suppose) and the machine turns off.

Any clues?

Thanks, Sam.
Didn't help.

Ubuntu is fine, but as it shuts down, something is asking for a password. Don't know what or why. It finally times out and shuts down.

I'm informed that neither root's or my password is the one Ubuntu is looking for.

Haven't touched sudoers.

Did you create another user, then it's another user session.
