Well, it all depends on the filesystem. But generally, NO.

Hi :)

I really cannot see that there would be any trouble at all.

The sandisk is a small usb stick isn't it? Just copy the files onto the usb-stick and put the stick into the ubuntu machine.

While it might partly depend on the file-system i think this is over-complicating the answer. Linux can usually read most file-systems even if Windows can't. Also the file format might be an issue if you were taking the files to a Windows machine but again linux can handle a huge variety and anyway this is just jpg which is about the most commonly used and standard formats around.

An easier way might be to network the 2 machines together or network them both to a server.

I personally have never set up a network and would probably find it easier to physically remove the hard-drive from one machine and plug it into another. I am quite good at avoiding damaging things with static and can avoid high voltages and sharp objects quite well. For most people i would recommend the networking type answer.

You could email them to yourself but that would be extremely slow if you were shifting more than 1 or 2 small pictures

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
