Please read:

http://www.etalkindia.com/computer_software_troubleshooting/how_to_connect_bsnl_internet_in_ubuntu_linuxbroadband-t2538.0.html

1. Connect your ethernet wire to the port at the back of your computer.
2. Fire up the terminal Applications→Accessories→Terminal and type in

sudo pppoeconf

give your user password you will not see any screen chars back to screen when you type it so type and then press enter

3. It should detect your modem.

4. Keep on pressing enter. Fill in your user name and password when indicated.
5. It should be easy to stick on to defaults.

Try to use internet...

thanks for reply.
i would try this ,but i solved the problem i called them and they made direct connection of modem (i don't need to dial up the modem, when power is on connection is established) and it worked.
