There is no "ubuntu"-string in the version numbers of the packages, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yad
This means that the packages have been copied form Debian without Ubuntu-specific modification.
All changes in Ubuntu on that software should come from Debian, and a request like yours should also be made in the Debian system.

There are indications on https://bugs.debian.org/919785 and https://bugs.debian.org/1024523 that there is already some work in progress in Debian, see also https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/yad
