xulrunner-1.9.1 won't install on Ubuntu 11.04

Asked by Luca Livraghi

Binary package hint: xulrunner-1.9.1

On a recently upgraded Ubuntu 11.04 I had to install some firefox updates trough update manager. When it comes to xulrunner, it just goes idle and the only thing I see on terminal is:

Setting up xulrunner-1.9.1 (1.9.1.18~hg20110309r27352+nobinonly-0ubuntu1~umd1)

Constantly, no matter how much time it takes. The problem is that until this installation process is done, I can't install other apps from the ubuntu software center. Please tell me which files you need and I'll post them.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug. There is also a vibrant support community available at http://askubuntu.com and you might consider asking your question there.

You're probably suffering from bug 663294. There probably won't be any more updates of that package in the PPA, so I"d suggest removing it.

In fact I manually removed the package and removed the ppa.
