hotkeys function key of sound adjustment does not work /xubuntu12.10 / sony vaio VGN-FW51JF

Sound adjustment with functionkey (vol + or -) does not work, volume keeps the same. I can only adjust it virtually. Anyone an idea?

I suggest you report one.

If you run:

xev

press the key on its own and note the output. Then press Fn+Key

Is the output different?

Hi, thx for your help. I really appreciate. If I run xev in the terminal, I get 6 pages of code. On the sony, the volume adjustment is not Fn+ key but just a single keystroke (vol+ or vol-). How to determine in 12 pages of code where there is a difference?

Each press makes a block of code, are the 2 blocks different for each keypress with Fn pressed and not pressed).
