xfce4 (precise) - lid close -> suspend on battery, but not while on AC

I've just installed the latest version of XUBUNTU (12.04, precise). It is a fresh install with no modifications.
It works almost perfectly. However, I configured power management to pause the system on lid close. While on battery and while on AC. It works while on battery, but when I do the same while on AC, it doesn't. When I open the lid again and log on through the screen saver, I see a message: 'power manager - NOT AUTHORiZED'.
What should I do the get it working?
