Better theme integration in USC and other apps in Xubuntu

Asked by Rubén Vera

Hi all.

First of all, I don't know if this is the place to report this. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

I'm using Xubuntu 11.10 and brings many themes to use, apart from those that can be installed later. However the one that integrates well with the Software Center, Update Manager or Boot Disks Creator (to name a few) is Greybird, the default Xubuntu theme. The rest (included and others via PPA, like Orta or Equinox) shows the elements without using the theme. In Greybird everything is more uniform and smooth.

What is the cause of this problem? Will this be fixed in future versions?

PS: Sorry for my bad english... :P

If you think this question should be reported as a bug of USC, I will no problem. However, this problem affects not only USC but many other applications. So I really wonder what is the best place to report it.

Thanks for your help.

This is due to USC and other GNOME apps being on GTK3 whereas Xfce is still on GTK2. I think greybird is the only theme we ship that supports GTK3. It would be a bug against the theme you're trying to use that it should support GTK3 apps.

Can you help with this problem?
