SiS is not very well supported AFAIK. First you should try to set
resolution in System>Preferences>Display. If the best resolution is not
among the suggested resolutions, you'll have to add it manually to the
graphics config file or help yourself with some tools in the command
line (Applications>Accessories>Terminal).

You can help yourself with these resources:
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution (1st source to use)
http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19296472.aspx (someone else with
your problem)
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/hardy/man4/sis.4.html (manual pages
about SiS driver)

It is no problem. It is because I switch the resolution to 800X600 and reboot the machine then it can change back have 1280x1024 and higher resolution choice. Now sometimes go back to 800x600 but re-select the solution and reboot again. The higher resolution will comes out.
